This document explains how to use iCube Engineer using a license on a USB dongle.

2. Solution details
For this document, it's assumed that iCube Engineer is already installed on the user computer.
Running iCube Engineer with a floating license dongle
- Plug the license dongle into the PC with iCube Engineer installed
- The Code Meter Control Center icon will be available on the PC.

- In the Code Meter Control Center console, the CmStick license will be available as shown below.
- Launch iCube Engineer. The splash screen will appear but the Trial license page will not.
- iCube Engineer can now be used for programming. If the license dongle is removed while iCube is open, iCube will still operate until it is closed and re-opened.
Note:
- Once the license dongle is removed, the trial license will be used until it expires.
- The floating license cannot be removed from the dongle and turned into a permanent license.
- the Dongle does operate on Windows 10 and Windows 11 Virtual machines with VmWare
