NOTIFICATION LOGGER Window
Notifications sent by the iC9200 Series target (i.e., sent by firmware components) are shown in the NOTIFICATION LOGGER window. Notifications are messages referring to special events that occurred on the controller. You can use the NOTIFICATION LOGGER for analyzing the firmware and applications running on the controller.
The notifications are also displayed in the 'Notification' category of the PLCnext Cockpit. The category provides the same information and operating options as provided in the NOTIFICATION LOGGER window. For details, see the topic "Controller Diagnostics out of the Cockpit".

iCube Engineer must be connected to the controller for reading the notifications from the controller and displaying them in the NOTIFICATION LOGGER window. |
The notifications table is updated every second when a connection to the iC9200 Series controller is established. New notifications appear at the top of the list. For each notification, the following information is provided in the notifications table:

Operations in the NOTIFICATION LOGGER Window
Filter the notifications
You can filter the notifications by the filter criteria described in the following table. To set the filter criteria, click the
icon next to the search field at the top right above the table and mark the corresponding checkbox to activate the related filter.
An activated filter is indicated by the framed filter icon and the
icon shown in the top left-hand corner of the table. To deactivate a filter, click the filter icon again and deactivate the related checkbox.
| Filter criteria | Description |
| Severity | The combobox contains all possible severities. The filter is applied showing all notifications that have the
selected severity or a higher value. For example, filtering on the severity level Warning displays notifications from severity levels Warning, Error, Critical Error, and Fatal Error. |
| Archive | Filters the notifications by their archive name.Notifications are saved in logger archives. The logger archives offer functions for acquiring and filtering of incoming notifications as well as for requesting and deleting. Using different archives makes it possible to save notifications for different issues and purposes. |
| Sender | Filters the notifications by their sender name.You can either select a sender name from the drop-down list (the list provides an entry for each sender name contained in the notifications table) or enter a sender name or part of a sender name in the input field. |
| From, To | Filters the notifications according to their timestamps.You can either enter a date and time in the input field or use the buttons on the right to select a date and time. |
Search notifications
Enter the search text into the 'Search' input field at the top right above the table. The search operates on all visible texts in the table.
Deactivate the search by clicking the delete icon
on the right of the 'Search' input field.
Sort the notifications
By default, the notifications in the notifications table are sorted in descending order based on the time stamp. You have the option of using the individual columns of the notifications table as sort criteria. To sort the notifications, click on the header of the corresponding table column (an arrow up/down icon at the column header shows the sort order). To toggle through the sort order, click the column header again.
