Start Page

The Start Page welcomes you introducing iCube Engineer. The Start Page is shown every time you start iCube Engineer and it is automatically closed when opening or creating a project.

Accessing the Safety-related Area when opening the project

Creating a new project or opening an existing project

Click 'New project' to create a new empty project. Alternatively, create a project based on a project template by choosing the corresponding template from the by 'Sample projects' list (see below).

To open an existing project, click 'Open existing project' and browse for the project file (*.pcwex) in the file open dialog. You can also find previously saved projects in the 'Recent projects' list (see below).

If you want to automatically re-open the last opened project when starting iCube Engineer, activate the 'Load last opened project after program start' checkbox.

Recent Projects

The 'Recent projects' list shows the projects that you have recently opened in iCube Engineer. Click the project name to open the desired project.

When hovering the mouse pointer over the project name, two icons appear on the right of the project name:

Pins the project to the 'Recent projects' list so that it will remain on the list until you unpin it. To unpin the project, click the pin icon.
Opens the Windows® file explorer and shows the location of the selected project file.

Templates and Sample Projects

The 'Sample projects' list provides a list of predefined project templates for the controllers supported by iCube Engineer. A project template contains a partially configured iCube Engineer project with or without application code which you can adapt as required for your specific application.

Checking for iCube Engineer updates

To check for available updates to iCube Engineer, click on 'Download newest update' in the 'Updates' section on the right. The 'Updates' section shows the installed iCube Engineer version and lists the updates you have installed.
