2.2 Activate Controller License
Licenses on the iC922x can be activated and managed in an automated fashion using the Controller Commissioning Tool, or manually by exchanging files between the controller, PC and the license server. Both methods are explained below.
2.2.1 Activate and manage controller license using Controller Commissioning Tool:
The download link and help file link for the Controller Commissioning Tool.
2.2.2 Activate and manage controller license manually
- Login to the Controller's Web Interface at http://<controller-ip-address>
- Open the "License Management" page from the side navigation panel under "Administration". All licensed features can be seen in this page.
- Check in the 'View Containers' tab to see if a container exists on the controller. If a container exists, go to step 4. For new licensing without an existing container, select the "Advanced Options" tab and click the "Create container" button. If a container already exists, a new container cannot be created.
- Open the "Offline Activation" tab and click the "Next" button.
- Download the ".WibuCmRaC" file in the download column.
- Open a separate internet browser or tab, navigate to https://www.icubecontrol.com/licensing and follow the link to controller feature licensing. Leave the previous web page open in a separate browser/tab for later.
- Enter the ticket number into the "Ticket" input and click the "Next" button.
- On the new page, scroll all the way down and click the "Activate Licenses" button.
- On the new page, scroll down all the way (once again), and click the "File-based license transfer" in blue text.
- On the new page, scroll down all the way, and click the "Choose File" button. Choose the ".WibuCmRaC" file downloaded from the controller in step 5.
- Click the "Start Activation Now" button. This may take a few seconds.
- Once redirected, click the "Download License Update File Now" button.
- Navigate back to the web browser/tab with the Controller WBM (leave the Wibu browser/tab open for a future step). Select the "Next" button, this will redirect you to the "Upload License Update" step.
- Once on the "Upload License Update" step, click the "Browse..." button and select the ".WibuCmRaU" file that was downloaded in step 12.
- Press "Upload", close the pop up, and then click "Next"
- In the redirected page, download the ".WibuCmRaR" file from the "Download" tab.
- Navigate back to the browser/tab for Wibu/Codemeter. Click the "Next" button to be redirected to the "Upload Receipt" page/step.
- On the new "Upload Receipt" page, select the "Choose File" button and choose the ".WibuCmRaR" file that was downloaded in step 16 (the website may incorrectly say 'Pick license receipt file (*.WibuCmRaC)', disregard this).
- Click the "Upload Receipt Now" button. This may take a few seconds.
- Navigate back to the controller browser/tab and click the "Finish" button.
- The "View Containers" page in the WBM will display the newly installed license.
- Power cycle the controller to verify the license.
